About the SAIA (CGP)
Shah Amanat International Airport is the second largest airport in Bangladesh. The airport is operated by Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh. In 1990 it became International Airport. The major development and expansion work started in 1998 funded by the Japanese government and the project was completed in December 2000. After that it started journey as M A Hannan International Airport, Chattogram. On April, 2005 it was renamed to Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram.
Shah Amanat International Airport is located at Patenga, southwest of Chattogram city at the bank of Karnaphuli River. This is 20 km west of Chattogram port and 18 km south of Chattogram railway station.
Domestic and international passenger and cargo flights are operated by the national and international airline operators to and from Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram.
